G-Star Raw + Gemma Arterton

Gemma Arterton, an up and coming English actress known from her roles in Quantum of Solace and Price of Persia, gives off a bad gal biker vibe in the G-Star Raw Fall/Winter 2011 campaign. I'm also kinda obsessed with full denim ensembles right now, and the styling of this campaign is really agreeing with me.

Girls Just Want To Have Fun

Summer is starting to come to a close, and therefore the spring trends are heading out & the fall trends are heading in. In a last ditch attempt to get the most out of my over-stocked supply of nail brights I put on Deborah Lippmann "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" from her Summer 2011 release. Pretty coral creme (looks more pink in bottle) that has a slight jelly quality to it. Took 3 coats to get this one opaque.

VMA 2011 Best Dressed

Last night the 2011 Video Music Awards took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles...


Highlights of the night included Beyonce & Jay Z announcing their pregnancy. Beyonce was practically glowing as she performed her new single Love On Top, and ended her performance by showing off that gorgeous baby bump!















Lady GaGa showed up as her male alter ego Jo Calderone.  She sauntered around with a drink in-hand all night and even managed to make Ms. Britney Spears squirm uncomfortably by hitting on her during her acceptance speech for the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Finally Adele's performance of her hit song Someone Like You left me speechless. Her unpretentious manor and dress was a nice break from the rest of the nights flamboyance. Not to mention her voice is unreal!

Now back to the good stuff... the fashion! Here are my top 3 picks (in no particular order) for best dressed male & female celebs at the 2011 VMA's!

The Last of the Summer Days

As the summer comes to an end, I find myself wanting to spend every last minute of it with lazy days at the beach, & patio lunches in the sunshine drinking Pimm's and ice tea. These photo's from US Vogue March 2004 are capturing my nostalgic moment of looking back on a great summer. I remember having this issue of Vogue in 2004 when I first started obsessing over super-models. The gorgeous Natalia Vodianova is still a favorite of mine to this day.

Cat's Wishlist: Macramé Sandal

My shoe craving continues on with these little beauties from Proenza Schouler's Fall 2011 RTW collection. They come in several to die for colour combos, Aqua/Blue, Yellow/Black, Pink/Burgandy & classic Black-on-Black. Personally I am loving the aqua combo. 

 

 Take note of the great rear view... Tribal-esque suede detailing on the back of my ankle? Yes please!

Gorgeous shoes right? Dress up with colour-blocked outfit (think candy coloured pencil skirt and tailored cropped jacket), or more understated with black pants & sheer flowy top. But lets be real, nothing about this shoe is understated.

 Some majorly great arm parties from some majorly stylish industry people.

I personally like to keep a nice balance between chic metal pieces (oversize watch or cuff) & colourful friendship bracelets in my arm party. My favorites are the bracelets that incorporate both, such as metal chains interwoven with colourful threads, or crystallized friendship bracelets.
